El Seed : When Calligraffiti Art become a message of peace

Born in France in 1981 to Tunisian parents, El seed shown in early interest toward the middle east culture and started to learn the Arabic language “reading and writing” to later transfer it into a message of peace through Art.

His artworks concentrate on providing humanitarian messages and hope by utilizing Arabic wisdoms, poems, and sometimes quotes from the Qur’an.

El seed is known worldwide as one of the most important and inspiring Calligraffiti Artists, and has several artworks around the world, inside Asia, Europe, and of course in the middle east.

He was a guest at Ted Talk platform, and there, he explained his ideas about what he creates and his main messages beyond his artworks, he always seemed to have an important view about Human peace and the necessity of creating Human connection by Art.

The artist’s artworks messages always relate to the place that they were done, as El Seed mentioned in one of his Ted Talk “I Always make sure to write messages that are relevant to the place where I’m painting, but messages that have a universal dimension so anybody around the world can connect to it”.

For El Seed, Art is not just playing with whatever talent the artist has, in fact it has to have a contribution in societies and Humanity in general.

Merging the Arabic lettering with graffiti

The fact that El Seed has managed to combine the Arabic Calligraphy with street art has played an impressive role in taking his talent to its best path, although that it’s might be a little bit difficult to understand the meaning of the texts that he creates from the first sight, still, the magical artistic movements in every letter can dazzle the spectator.

El seed tends to create his art by using famous Arabic poems from important poets such as the Palestinian Poet Mahmoud Darwish and Sundus-Abdul Hadi.

He also uses quotes from the Quran in which talk about peace, he has succeeded in making his native language the inspiration and message in which he’s striving to share it with the world through Calligraffiti art.

1. A project of peace on 50 buildings

the artwork project consist calligraffiti paintings that were done on 50 murals buildings inside Al Zabbaleen district in Cairo,” the Garbage people”, is a place in which its people work on collecting garbage and recycling it, and El Seed worked with his team on turning this place into a remarkable site by adorning Art on its buildings, it was a very unique artistic-humanitarian experience in which El Seed gained a very well reputation for the amazing works that he has done, and it has attracted the press and the public as well.

2. The Mirror of babel in Toronto

An installation that El seed has created it in Toronto, holding a message of peace, the story beyond the installation were taken from a biblical story.

For the artist, his main goal was to create a piece of art in which will unite people through it, regardless their vary nationalities or mother tongues or any sort of thing that might divide humanity in any way.

The mirror of babel wasn’t meant to be a religious piece of art, in fact it meant to be a purely humanitarian artwork.

The remarkable fact about the installation is that it made by mirrors that reflects every individual whom observes it, it’s like a reminder that no matter how differences we might have, after all we are the same.

His artworks and activities in Dubai

El Seed owns an Art studio in Dubai at ALSerkal Avenue, he’s known of his stunning artworks in the City, he has a public art on a building on the side of the Green Planet, in which hold an Arabic curved calligraphy Art.

He also has several colored murals paintings in Dubai, adding to several exhibitions in different Art galleries inside the City.

El Seed has gained in important position in the artist communities locally and internationally, his artistic journey is indeed full of successes, it’s not the peaceful messages that El Seed was able to spread through art, but also there’s a hope that occurs with every movement of his letters.

عندما يصبح فن الخط والرسم علي الجدار رسالة سلام :إل سيد

ولد في فرنسا عام 1981من أبوين ذوي أصل تونسي,أظهر الرسام إل سيد إهتمام مبكر لما له علاقة بالثقافة الشرقية وبدء بتعلم اللغة العربية كتابة وقراءة حتي حولها إلي رسالة سلام عبر الفن.

تتركز أعماله علي منح رسائل إنسانية وأمل من خلال إستخدام حِكم وأشعار عربية وفي بعض الأحيان إقتباسات من القرأن.

اشتهر إل سيد عالميا لكونه واحد وأهم فنانين الجرافيتي والخط الملهمين,ولديه العديد من الأعمال الفنية حول العالم داخل أسيا وأروبا وداخل الشرق الأوسط بالطبع.

تم استضافته في منصة تيد توك,حيث شرح أفكاره حول مايقوم به ورسائله الأساسية وراء أعماله الفنية,وهو دائما مايبدي إمتلاكا لوجهة نظر مهم يتعلق بالسلام البشري وضرورة خلق إتصال بشري من خلال الفن.

إن أعمال الفنان دائما ماتكون لها علاقة بالمكان التي تم إنشائها,وقد أشار ذلك في إحدي حديثه علي منصة تيد توك قائلا« إنني دائما ما أحاول أن أكتب رسائل له علاقة بالمكان الذي أقوم بالعمل الفني داخله,ولكنها رسائل ذات بعد عالمي حتي يتمكن أي شخص حول العالم من أن يتصل بها« .

بالنسبة ل إل سيد الفن ليس مجرد اللعب مع أياكان مايمتلكه الفنان من موهبة ولكن يتوجب أن يساهم في المجتمع والإنسانية بشكل عام عبر هذه الموهبة أيا كانت.

دمج الخط العربي مع فن الجرافيتي

إن حقيقة كون إل سيد تمكن من جمع الخط العربي مع فن الشارع لعب دور كبير في نقل موهبته لأفضل مرحلتها,ورغم أنه قد يبدوا من الصعب في البداية فهم معني الكلمات التي يصنعها من أول وهلة إلا أن الحركة الفنية الساحرة الكامنة مع كل حرف قادرة علي إبهار المشاهد.

يميل إل سيد إلي خلق فنه من خلال استخدام أشعار عربية مشهورة من شعراء مهمين مثل الشاعر الفلسطيني محمود درويش وكذلك الشاعر سندس عبد الهادي.

يستخدم أيضا اقتباسات قرأنية التي تتحدث عن السلام,وقد نجح في جعل لغته الأم الإلهام والرسالة التي يسعي إليهما عبر فن الجرافيتي والخط.

بعض من أعمال إل سيد المثيرة للإهتمام

1. مشروع سلام علي 50مباني

يتكون المشروع الفني من رسومات جرافيتي وخطوط التي تم عملها علي 50جدار داخل حي الزبالين في القاهرة ,وهو حي يقوم سكانه بجمع القمامة وإعادة تدويرها,وقم قام إل سيد وفريقه بتحويل المكان برمته إلي مكان مبهر من خلال تزيين جدرانه,لقد كانت تجربة فنية–إنسانية والتي من خلالها حصل إل سيد علي سمعة فنية جيدة بسبب العمل الرائع الذي قام به,وقد قام بجذب الصحافيين وكذلك العامة.

2. مراة بابل في تورنتو

إنه نصب فني قام إل سيد بإنشائه داخل مدينة تورنتو,حاملا رسالة سلام,وقد تم الإستناد علي قصة من الإنجيل في هذا العمل الفني.

كان الهدف الأساسي بالنسبة للفنان هو إنشاء قطعة فنية والتي ستقوم بتوحيد الناس من خلالها,وذلك بغض النظر عن جنسياتهم أو لغاتهم الأم أو أي شئ قد يقسم الإنسانية بأي شكل من الأشكال.

لم تكن المغزي من مراة بابل أن تكون قطعة فنية دينية ففي واقع الأمر كان الغرض من إنشائها إنسانية بحتة .

الأمر المهم والمثير للإهتمام بخصوص هذا النصب الفني هو أنه مصنوع من مراة حيث يعاكس صورة الشخص الذي ينظر إليه,وكأنه تذكار بأنه مهما امتلكنا من فروقات إلا أننا في النهاية واحد.

أعماله وأنشطته الفنية في دبي

يمتلك إل سيد استيديو فني داخل شارع السركال في دبي,وهو معروف بأعماله الفنية المبهرة داخل المدينة,كما أنه لديه عمل فني قام به علي إحدي المباني المجاورة للكوكب الخضراء في دبي والذي يتكون من خطوط فنية عربية مائلة .

ولديه أيضا العديد من الرسومات الملونة علي الجدران في دبي ,وذلك بالإضافة لمعارضه المختلفة التي أقامها داخل المدينة.

كسب إل سيد موقعا مهما في المجتمعات الفنية دوليا ومحليا ,فرحلاته الفنية مليئة بالنجاحات,إنها ليست الرسائل السلمية وحدها التي تمكن إل سيد من نشرها من خلال الفن بل أيضا ثمة أمل يظهر مع كل حركة من خطوطه.
