For this project with Ellis Gourmet Burger, a premium burger concept, our brief was clear: create a wall that feels as generous as the food. Instead of a cold printed graphic, we designed a large hand-painted mural where bold letters, playful words and small illustrations wrap the room and set the tone from the moment guests step inside. The result is a warm, urban atmosphere that would work perfectly for burger restaurants in Dubai, from home-grown concepts in Jumeirah and Al Wasl Road to international names at Dubai Marina, City Walk or Downtown.
In a city where guests are used to stylish interiors and strong brands, a custom mural helps a burger place stand out from the many fast casual concepts already present. Just like our live typographic painting for Pizza Hut, this project shows how hand-drawn letters instantly connect with the world of comfort food, American diners and gourmet burgers, while still feeling premium enough for a design-driven Dubai audience.
In the collective imagination, burgers and hand-lettering go together naturally. Blackboard menus, chalk lettering and vintage signage are part of the visual culture of burger joints. By painting the wall directly, we keep that authenticity but with a contemporary twist. On this Ellis Gourmet Burger wall, typography dominates the composition: large questions, playful sentences about food, and small details hidden in the corner of the mural invite guests to look closer while they wait for their order.
This approach is particularly relevant in Dubai, where many burger restaurants already invest heavily in branding. A hand-painted mural goes further than a simple logo application: it becomes a living part of the concept, just like we did for other hospitality projects such as a creative donut shop mural in Dubai or a bar decoration project that brought urban energy into a restaurant setting. The wall becomes a storytelling tool, not just a background.
For Ellis, we built the mural around their brand colours, adding just enough freedom to keep the artwork alive. The main message appears in large letters, surrounded by references to fries, grilled chicken, cuts of beef and of course a hero burger. The palette stayed close to the corporate identity, but the hand-painted texture, drips and small imperfections give the space a human touch that printed wallpaper can’t reproduce.
In Dubai we can follow the same logic while adapting to each venue. A family-friendly burger spot at Dubai Hills might call for a brighter, more playful composition, while a gourmet burger bar in DIFC could use more refined calligraphy and a limited, sophisticated colour range. Our experience in hospitality environments, from immersive murals for luxury hotels to large scale cafeteria artworks like the AES Dubai wall decoration, helps us balance visual impact with the constraints of service, lighting and guest circulation.
A custom mural is rarely just about decoration. In a burger restaurant, it can guide guests toward the counter, suggest signature recipes, highlight the origin of the ingredients or celebrate the neighbourhood. At Ellis Gourmet Burger, the wall art works hand in hand with furniture, signage and the open-kitchen area, just as we do when we collaborate on broader interior design concepts for agencies and commercial spaces.
In Dubai or Abu Dhabi, this type of project can be integrated into a full brand rollout: a mural inside the restaurant, a smaller piece on the terrace, maybe a photo-friendly corner for social media, similar to what we have developed for other food and beverage clients alongside projects such as our Leonardo da Vinci inspired restaurant wall art. The idea is always the same: make guests feel that the place has a soul, not just a logo.
Working with a specialised graffiti and lettering agency means benefiting from a double culture. On one side, pure street art skills and a strong understanding of letterforms, colour and composition. On the other, solid experience with restaurant operations, deadlines, safety rules and brand guidelines. We are used to coordinating with architects, franchise managers and marketing teams to deliver murals that respect both the creative ambition and the operational constraints of a busy burger restaurant.
Whether you are launching a new concept at a lifestyle destination like JBR, redesigning an existing outlet in a mall, or extending a regional franchise across the UAE, we can support you from the first sketches to the final brush stroke. From hand-painted typographic walls in fast casual environments to more refined pieces for boutique hotels and rooftop venues, our references in restaurant wall art across Dubai show how urban creativity can boost the perceived value of a burger on the plate.
